| Jet 4m Originally, this new compact RIB design was developed as a tender for a larger leisure craft being developed by Buzzi. The larger design is still being developed, but the tender has proved so successful that it is being put into production by Italian RIB builder Novamarine which supplied the tubes. It will be offered both as a practical yacht tender and as a performance fun boat. Twin moulded bucket seats give side by side seating at the console. Under the seat is the stainless steel fuel tank, the battery and the oil reservoir. The seat faces the steering console with its minimal control and switches and a handhold for the passenger. The console extends forward, creating a large storage area below. The inflatable tube is finely tapered to a narrow diameter at the bow which is squared off to create more deck space. The hull is a moderate vee, with the spray rails running aft to create the flat area for the water jet intake. A small platform at the stern protects the water jet. The performance is exciting with speeds up to 40 mph. There is enough power for water skiing, but at low speeds, the boat is docile for use as a dignified yacht tender. The handling is precise and safe making this a perfect boat as a yacht tender and a versatile fun boat. RIB 36 The pedigree of the RIB 36 is immaculate. The hull is based on the experience of larger hulls which won several World Championships in offshore racing. Then designer Fabio Buzzi developed the world's fastest rigid inflatable, the Tecno 40. The smaller RIB 36 is based on the Buzzi Buzzard racing RIB with the single Seatek 1100hp replaced by twin Yamaha 250hp outboards. This outboard version is available as a fast commuter or sports cruiser fitted out for comfortable high performance pleasure. The style makes it one of the best looking RIBS on the market today, its sleek profile matching its superb performance. The hull is moulded in GRP and features two steps in modern fast boat style to give a comfortable ride in adverse conditions. The inflatable tube made by Novamarine speaks of high performance. The styling is like the handling, highly functional and precise, creating a RIB which is dedicated to high performance. The raised cockpit sides form a wind deflector at the front and give a deep safe cockpit. Inside there are four individual padded bolsters in racing boat style each one with its own dedicated handhold to give the passengers a safe, secure ride. The hull looks immensely strong inside with massive ring frames linking to the deep longitudinals. There is space forward of the cockpit for a minimal cabin, and a hatch in the deck provides light and ventilation. On the military versions, this hatch is the secure location for the machine gun operator. The performance is breathtaking with tremendous acceleration when the throttles are opened and the full 500 hp let loose on what is a very lightweight boat. The boat lifts by the bow as the power is released and then settles at a good trim angle with the forward step just in the water. The water parts away from the hull cleanly and as the boat increases speed there is a flat clean wake with the minimum of rooster tail. The top speed is 63 knots.
