CC stands for Cabin Cruiser. John Biesheuvel Watersport has designed a completely new RING to meet a customer's wishes.
It has the qualities and sailing characteristics of a RING hull combined with the luxury of an (often) Italian RIB.
The RING 950CC is an elegant cabin RIB that retains sleek, sporty lines. Even with the canopy it remains a sporty RIB, with the look expected of a RING.
Because there was no need to change the sailing characteristics, a Mike Ring series 2 hull with a length of 9.50 m was used.
The series 2 hull can handle two motors, but for this 950CC the choice was made to use a single Yamaha F350.
A unique element of the 950CC is the cabin, which includes a full-size 2 person bed. The 950CC also includes many luxury facilities such as a refrigerator, toilet, water tank, tap, sink, bow thruster, practical storage space, LED lighting, lockable portlights and a deck window.
The 950CC has an extensive electrical system. A complete electrical panel is provided in the cabin, fitted with circuit breakers and tied into its own Optima battery.
All the on-board electrical components have been carefully selected with an eye towards power consumption. With shore power, 220V is even available via a socket in the galley.
The pilothouse aft of the cabin was custom designed to fit the available space, and this arrangement includes two bolster seats with fold-up seating. Storage space is provided under the seats.
A special feature is the inclusion of a VETUS bow thruster. Because the boat has a single motor, the bow thruster was added to improve manoeuvrability in the harbour. The bow thruster naturally also has its own Optima battery.
All three batteries are charged by the F350 while the motor is running, with priority given to the start battery to ensure there is always sufficient power to start the motor.
The first CC is currently undergoing extensive testing. John Biesheuvel Watersport and the customers in particular were quite surprised by the top speeds, which exceed 90 km/h. What other RIB achieves such speeds with a fully equipped galley, full tanks and so much luxury on board?
Customers Ciska and Martijn are extremely satisfied with the final result: "A cabin rib with this flexibility is exactly what we wanted. I (Martijn) was looking for a Rib so we will have the benefit of a RING hull on choppy water, yet we also wanted to be able to make week-long trips. In this regard the rib is very versatile, because my girlfriend also has the level of comfort you would normally only expect in a sport cruiser."
"The collaboration with John Biesheuvel was exceptional. Our wishes were transformed into a completely custom-built rib. We participated in every decision, from the colour scheme and material choices to the accessories and equipment. It was an intensive process for both parties, and we are proud of the final result", says Ciska. "Our 6-month-old son is also going to have many wonderful experiences on this boat."
Martijn: "John is surrounded by professionals with a high level of expertise in their various specialisations. The carpenter, sailmaker, upholsterer and personnel – this boat is the culmination of all their hard work!"
